    Event Description:
    Presented in partnership with Penfield Children’s Center and Kohl’s Cares, this workshop discusses the importance of reading to and with your child; identifying and selecting age-appropriate books; and tips for raising a reader. This program is geared towards parents/caregivers with children UP TO AGE 8. After attending this workshop, attendees will be able to: • Recognize the importance of reading to and/or with one’s child • Identify and select age-appropriate books • Recognize tips for raising a reader • Name resources for free or low cost books Attendees of the workshop will also have the opportunity to ask questions related to developing their young child’s reading skills. Helpful hand-outs will be available and all attendees will receive a reading toolkit to take home. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ENSURE THERE ARE ENOUGH HAND-OUTS AND TOOLKITS FOR ALL ATTENDEES
